Brief Bio of Dr. Raymond Havlicek
Formerly an Assistant Professor of Psychology at New York Institute of
Technology in the 1970's, Dr. Havlicek developed his practice as a clinical,
sports, and
forensic psychologist over the last 40 years. He became a Permanently Certified
School Psychologist in 1968 and a Licensed Psychologist in 1975. He has
developed effective approaches for Biofeedback Treatment to alleviate stress related
disorders, and for learning and attention disorders including ADD, ADHD and ASD.
Dr. Havlicek has incorporated COGMED into his therapeutic offerings for children
and adults with attention disorders. He has developed unique methods and theories for Parent Coordination, Family
Therapy, comprehensive Forensics, Sport Psychology, Health Psychology, and
Integrative Psychotherapeutic Models.
Through the Institute for Psychosomatic Research, Hofstra University, and as a
member of the Clinical Faculty at Yeshiva University School of Medicine's
Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology Clinical-Health Psychology Program he has
supervised doctoral dissertation research, trained doctoral psychology graduate
students, and provided continuing education for mental health and medical
professionals. He has specifically focused his teaching efforts on the
integration of behavioral therapeutics with medical interventions through the
use of dynamic, cognitive, behavioral and self-regulatory methods to treat many
psychological and medical disorders and conditions. Stress alleviation therapy
is a specialty of Dr. Havlicek.
Dr. Havlicek has been appointed by and declared an expert many times in the
Supreme and Family Courts of New York State, where he has provided his opinions
regarding child custody, parent alienation, and alleged sexual abuse cases. Dr.
Havlicek's forensic opinions have been influencial throughout New York State's
Supreme and Family Courts. Most noteworthy are his opinions regarding the
necessity for court appointed psychologists to provide therapeutic-supervisory
services in certain high conflict cases where there are significant
psychological risks to the integrity of parent-child relationships. He
has been appointed many times for the purpose of family reunification in cases
where a child becomes alienated or estranged from a parent. Dr. Havlicek is a
Founding Member of the Parent Coordination Association of New York. Dr. Havlicek
has been called upon in pre-trial criminal cases to assess individuals accused
of sexually abusing children. In addition, Dr. Havlicek has been retained to
assess work place conflicts and alleged associated damages, and provide
Independent Medical Evaluations. He is noted for his work regarding bullying,
work place harassment, and gender and pregnancy discrimination in the work
place.
Dr. Havlicek is a Board Certified Clinical Psychologist, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical
